Horsepower Friesians was born out of a more recently discovered passion of the Penman's - the Majestic Friesian Horse! Mark and Marjorie first discovered and fell in love with the breed from the movie Ladyhawke, which featured the captivating Friesian stallion Goliath; Mark and Marjorie set out to find their "Fairytale Black Horse". Their quest led them to the Friesian horse breed, an ancient and noble breed from Europe.
The Penman's were initially drawn to the Regal Beauty, Power and Elegance of the Friesian breed. Friesians are Statuesque, Graceful horses, with captivating physical beauty. But it was their incrdible dispositions that caught Mark and Marjorie's heart. Among their many wonderful qualities, Friesians are characterized by friendliness, intelligence, and incredible willingness. The intimate relationship between rider and horse is a characteristic that sets this breed apart from many others, as a profound affection between rider and horse is so common to the Friesian breed.
